1. Authority
The event known as the 2026 VERO International Festival of Historic Motoring (“VIFHM”) will be run under these and any supplementary regulations posted from time to time by the organisers.

4. Dates of this Festival
The event will commence on Sunday 15th March 2026 and finish on Saturday 21st March 2026.
5. Eligible Entrants
Financial members of the organising club (VCC) or Overseas residents who are members of any Veteran, Vintage, Classic, Antique or One Make Club or Register recognised by the organising club.
Note: The entrant must be either the driver, rider, navigator, or passenger of the vehicle entered.
6. Eligible Vehicles
Any vehicle which is 30 years old or older as per VCC rules is eligible for this event. Eligibility for participation in International Events is limited to vehicles classified up to and including B5, as specified on the VCC Vehicle Identity Card. In addition all vehicles entered must have a current VCC Vehicle Identity Card (VIC) or FIVA Identity Card (NB. It is mandatory to display the VCC VIC Sticker on the vehicle) and will be expected to comply with the VCC’s usual standard for conditions of vehicles. For overseas owners importing vehicles to attend this event that do not have a FIVA Identity Card or VIC for their vehicle, the owner will need to apply for a temporary VIC from the VCC Registrar. It will be preferable to apply for a FIVA Identity Card in your country prior to attending the event.

7. Statutory Requirements
All drivers and vehicles must comply with all regulations pertaining to operating on New Zealand roads to the satisfaction of the New Zealand authorities. It is the responsibility of the entrant to ensure this.
Every driver shall be required to hold a current driving licence or international licence acceptable to the New Zealand authorities and acceptable to the class of the vehicle entered.
8. Insurance
The VCC has arranged public liability cover for the event. All entrant’s vehicles must be covered by either comprehensive or third party vehicle insurance. It is the entrant’s responsibility to understand the vehicle insurance coverage while participating in this event.
Any damage by any entrant to third party property or to their vehicles or any other competitor’s vehicle is that entrant’s responsibility entirely. Entrants are reminded of the availability of the special policies with comprehensive event cover for VCC vehicles at club rates under the VCC scheme held with the major sponsor VERO. Please check your policy to check you have this cover.
9. Optional event – The Teams Relay Challenge.
All VCC vehicle classes are eligible to participate (Veteran, Vintage, Post Vintage, Post War, Post 60, Post 80, Motorcycle and Commercial). While entry is encouraged, it is your choice to participate. Entries will be limited to the first three hundred received.
10. Accommodation
Please support those accommodation providers listed on our website while at the Festival. When booking, mention you are entering for the Festival and receive the
entrant’s discount.
11. Online Registration and Closing date
Registrations will close on 31 August 2025. In the interests of sustainability and efficiency, online registration via the event website is the preferred option. Go to www.historicmotoring.org.nz to complete your registration. During online registration you will be given the opportunity to pay using credit card or bank transfer.
While paper/offline registration is possible it can take longer to process therefore please be aware of deadline dates. We suggest an alternative is to get a friend to assist you to register online.
Payment via paper/offline registration can only be accepted via bank transfer.

Registrations will not be complete until all compulsory information has been submitted and payment has been received in full and processed by us. If limited numbers options close before your registration is complete you accept that you may miss out on those options.
The entry fee includes the Festival Pack, Festival Plaque and entry to all functions except meals and the Grand Finale on Saturday evening. Additional passengers will not receive a Festival Pack or Festival Plaque.
Entrants will be contacted late in 2025, after close of registrations, regarding purchasing meal options.
12. Late Registration
Registrations submitted after 31 August 2025 must be accompanied by a late fee of NZ $200 in addition to the registration fee. Registrations will not be accepted after 30th November 2025. Fees stated are GST inclusive. The organisers have the right to decline any entry.
13. Cancellation of Registration
Should any entrant wish to cancel their registration prior to November 30th 2025 they can do so by notifying the Festival Secretary in writing (see section 3 above).
Refunds will only be made on the following basis:
– Full refund, less cancellation fee of NZ$50 if notice is received by 30th September 2025.
– 50% refund, less cancellation fee of NZ$50 if notice is received by 30th November 2025.
– No refunds will be made after 30th November 2025, except in exceptional circumstances and at the absolute discretion of the organising committee.
14. Privileges of Entry
Completion of the entry registration and payment of the full applicable registration fee entitles the entrant to full participation in the event, all information, instructions and manuals issued by the organisers. Registration also entitles access to most entertainment at the Festival.
All vehicles must meet the eligibility requirements as detailed in section 6 of these regulations. Entry to the Festival HQ will be by official name tag only. The Festival organisers require that these name tags must be worn at all times.
15. Photographs and text
During the event participants are encouraged to send newsworthy images and descriptions to: festivalcomms@vcc.org.nz
By doing so you grant the VCC permission to use your images and your description (or a version of it) for the event newsletter and/or promotion of VCC events.
Entrants are required to supply one clear colour photograph showing the whole of the vehicle(s) that will be used in the rally and supply a brief history or description up to 60 words. This is intended for use in an event car spotters guide and/or the rally guide book.
By supplying this image and text you grant the VCC permission to use your name, the vehicle image, and the history/description (or a version of it) in the guide and for promotion of the event. Each entrant will receive a complimentary copy of the rally guide book.
Photographers will be documenting this event. By attending you accept that images of you and/or your vehicle may be used for promotion of the VCC plus this event and future VCC events.
16. Regulations
These regulations are designed for the orderly conduct of the Festival. It is a requirement that the entrants observe these regulations at all times throughout the Festival. We may from time to time revise the regulations without notice and such revision will take effect when it is posted on this website. Your continued use of this website will be regarded as your acceptance of these regulations as amended. Entrants are responsible for ensuring that their crews are conversant with the regulations and instructions. Any instructions or directions from any official of the event should be promptly complied with.
17. Change of Contact Details
Festival entrants must advise the Festival Secretary (see section 3 above) immediately of any change of contact details after lodging registration. You can can also update your contact details by clicking the “manage order” button in your order confirmation email. Information sent to any entrant’s last email or physical address will be deemed to have been officially notified.
18. Disqualification
The organisers may exclude from the event any entrant, driver or passenger who contravenes these regulations, or by their behaviour, is liable, in the opinion of the organiser, to bring discredit upon the events, or the Vintage Car Club of New Zealand Incorporated.
19. Jurisdiction
The 2026 VERO International Festival of Motoring Festival Director and the members of the organising committee have full jurisdiction in respect of any matters concerning the Festival. Any complaint or other matters requiring adjudication must be placed before them in writing no later than 6pm, 21st March 2026.
20. Official Language
The official language of the event will be English and all interpretations of the instructions or regulations will be in accordance with New Zealand Law.
21. Legal
Every entrant will be responsible for observing all formalities, legal requirements and charges involved in bringing their vehicles, passengers and equipment to the starting line and throughout the event.
22. Privacy Information
We collect personal information from you when you register, including information about your: name; contact information; interactions with us; vehicle details.
We collect your personal information in order to plan and run the 2026 Vero International Festival of Historic Motoring and inform you of other Vintage Car Club of New Zealand Incorporated events. Entrants will be added to an email newsletter list used to communicate with you about the event prior to and during the event. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time but we recommend maintaining your subscription to the event newsletter as means of keeping up to date with any changes to, or important information about, the event.
If you choose not to enter all the required information, we will not be able to complete your registration for the event. You have the right to ask for a copy of any personal information we hold about you, and to ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong. 23. Loan Vehicles
We will endeavour to assist entrants requiring loan vehicles to find a suitable vehicle. The person(s) lending the vehicle and the person(s) borrowing the vehicle must agree a loan arrangement themselves. The event organisers are not responsible for any loan arrangements or the management of them.
24. Website Use
Use of this website by you is at your sole risk. Any information provided on this website has been provided as information about the 2026 Vero International Festival of Historic Motoring. While VIFHM and VCC provide the information on this website in good faith, we are not responsible for any reliance by you on any information contained in or accessed through this website. VIFHM and VCC accept no liability for any cost or damages of any kind resulting from the use of the Website.
25. Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, VIFHM and VCC give no warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory or otherwise, including warranties or representations that the website or any data, information, advice, opinion, service or product provided, obtained or generated by or through the website will be complete, accurate, reliable, timely or error-free or that this website will be secure and provide uninterrupted access, and any such representations or warranties are expressly disclaimed.
26. Cancellation of the Event
Should registration numbers not reach a suitable level by 30th September 2025 the organisers reserve the right to cancel or postpone the event. In this case a full refund will be made to entrants.
